{Photo} Friday

I go through spells where I feel sad and alone. I get angry at everyone and am envious of the lives of those around me. I want to give up blogging, Flickr, sewing, etc.
I sort of go in a "hermit" mode for a few days even weeks.

Then something catches my eye. A flower or a piece of jewellery and it invokes inspiration. I bring my camera back out from it's bag and snap a photo. I then go to Flickr to upload the image. Upon being on Flickr I see other peoples photos and engage in a conversation. Soon I am back to normal (my normal) and feel the urge to create again.

My latest mood enhancing photograph was when I stumbled across these old crazy beaded earrings I got many years ago before children. I loved these earrings. They are huge, tacky, and I would never where them now. The second I saw them though I felt they needed to be photographed.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll be uploading the Apple Festival pictures sometime tomorrow. Then I will be starting my Mermaid art course so will have some photos of the progress on that. :)

{Photo} Friday

I'm going back into one of my "moods" again. Some people call them creative slumps but they encompass more than just crafts for me. I hate being this way.
Maybe some fresh air at the Apple Festival will do me good.

Flea Market Fancy Bday Gift

I showed you this little cutie yesterday but now that I have some decent photos I thought I would re-post it along with the other half of this gift.

I used some Flea Market Fancy scraps that I have been hoarding forEVER it seems. Along with some fraying canvas. I originally was just testing out my shabby sewing (is that what it's called?) but it turned out so good I decided to include it in a birthday gift.

Today it was time for some more FMF fun.
The recipient loves zip pouches and such so I made her a little patchwork wristlet.

It was supposed to have a gusset but honestly I had too much to do today to bother with it so just made it flat. I still think it turned out okay and it was fun working with Flea Market Fancy.

I hope she likes it.

Next week starts more shop product making. I have spent this whole weekend cutting out pouches and other goodies. I should have been cleaning up my studio though. It's pretty scary.  :)

Unfinished Edges

I love how fiber artists projects look with the raw edges and fringe. It's really hard for me to try and go there though with my work. I think it's the perfectionist in me. I just want to break free of rules and make something messy but can't seem to do it.
I am going to try though. Once a week just break out of my comfort zone and get my fray on.
