My Creative Space

Well this post was intended for last night because I finally had a minute to blog and what to do you know. Blogger was dead the WHOLE NIGHT!

I finally gave up and went to sleep. I miss you TypePad. :(



Well anywho, here is my creative space lately. I have a bunch of little patchwork blocks waiting to be sewn together for a pillow cover I need.
I am really excited because I am using my favorite scraps. Some are Spoonflower swatches too which took FOREVER to get here but I really love. Some I bought from designers on Spoonflower and some are my brothers drawings I edited to make fabric from.

I am really behind on my Reader so will start going through that tomorrow. If you have some blog reading time tomorrow too check out the new Creative Space page. It's bigger..... and sometimes bigger IS better :)

My Creative Space 1

My Creative Space is back! It's seems like it's been so long. :)
I've been working on a throw using up a bunch of random fat quarters. It could either be really pretty...or extremely clashy....
I'll be back in a few days with the finished top so we can find out. I've already got the squares sewn together and just need to add some white fabric. I am hoping by using lots of solid white it will tone down the wild prints a little.

(I'll also be be back at some point with a post on my top. I have it in draft form I just am having issues with getting photos of the top.)

My Creative Space 8

I'm working on two things at the moment which is why I haven't been on Flickr and here that much lately. One project is a quilt from this book my mom sent yesterday. I abandoned the other book {only temporarily} since I am working on a Christmas quilt for someone....I only hope I can get it done in time.


The second thing is catching up on the Danita free motion course. I've been taking lots of notes since the online videos will be going down in a couple months


I hope I'll be back around this weekend with progress on one of these things. Lately my weekdays have been so busy and there are so many things to do with the holidays and not enough time. If you need some inspiration or ideas on gifts I would recommend checking out the Handmade Holidays post.

My Creative Space 7

I don't really have anything productive going on in my space since I'm going on vacation tomorrow. So I figured I would just share some photos of things laying around in my loft/sewing room/studio...whatever you want to call it.  :)

I did get this wonderful quilt book today and plan on making something out of it when I return. I'll have a few days off for Thanksgiving so that should give me some sewing time.

Kody has already put in a request for the robot quilt so that's most likely what I'll start on first.

My Creative Space 5

My creative space this week is pretty much filled up with Heather Ross "coins".
I've gotten out all my Heather fabric and have been chopping away so hopefully I can start this coin quilt soon.

After going through all the different pieces I wish I had just a few more. I may take what's left of the HR sale that I haven't cut up and try and swap it for some different prints. My goal is to have at least started with sewing by the end of the year but you know how that goes.......

This is what I have stacked up all over my desk this week.

A pile of miniture fabric squares to piece together. I'm not sure what they will become as of now but it will be nice to have them all sewn together.

My Creative Space 3

Here is what I am working on at the moment. I'm still gathering supplies but think I'll be able to start this weekend. Luckily for me my local quilt shop has a decent amount of Patricia Bravo fabric. I just wish they would get the newer lines. :)

Anyway I haven't been around here lately because I wasn't feeling well but I think I'm on the mend now.

My Creative Space 2

SQUIRRELS!!

Working on a special little clutch that I will probably end up keeping for my New York City trip. I have only been to NY once and it was many years ago. I'm definitely looking forward to going now, especially now that I am so involved in creating things. Purl Soho here I come!. :)

I should have the completed clutch up this weekend (as usual) and hopefully I can finish a quilt I am working on as well. It's been cold and rainy this week from a tropical storm and I really wish that I had the quilt finished right now.

My Creative Space 1

I've discovered a new blog today Kootoyoo. Well it's new to me anyway. :)
I've decided to hop on the My Creative Space train and join in the fun.

I've been working on a little patchwork project using linen as a swap gift for someone.
I'll post the reveal Saturday. Tonight we have a teachers conference.
