Hey everyone. Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.

I've been a really horrible blogger so far this year and I don't really know why. I guess since I haven't had much time to sew, I haven't had anything to blog about.
I've been spending most of my free time outdoors planting some things in our {dirt}

yard and spending time on my deck sketching. Last year I made a nice little creative place for drawing and reading and can't wait for the leaves to grow back on the trees so I can hang there again.

I purchased the cutest little journal at Malaprops yesterday that I adore and think I'll actually stick with. The illustrations are really sweet that are placed throughout the book. They also can be ripped out and used as postcards, but I don't see myself parting with them.

 

I even started on my first page.

Does anyone else art journal or have a regular (not online) journal they write in? Is anyone like me and have about 10 of them partially used and then abandoned? Well, I'm determined to finish this one. It's huge (half with lines and half blank pages) but I'm hoping the cute factor will keep me entertained with it.
I should be working on my moms buttercup bag now though instead of playing online so I'll be back later this week!

I haven't done a Photo Friday in a while but loved this little ornament from Cindy (no blog) and thought it looked so pretty hanging by my fabric. I just had to share it so thanks for indulging me. :)

Fallen

 

While I love the colors of fall and the leaves all over the ground, they will soon blow away and we will be left with the gray tones of winter for the next few months.
I decided to take a couple of photos while there was a little color left in my world.


Pretty soon we'll have to get creative with our photos inside the house.
The bokeh Christmas tree photos will be springing up all over Flickr too which reminds me... I should be working on gifts for this year instead of typing. ;)

Do you have a dream journal? This is mine.

My journal is not used like most dream journals are though. I don't wake up and record what I dreamt about that night. Instead I jot down my future dreams and goals, ideas, wishes, sketches, pretty much anything I think I may want to revisit again.

I keep meaning to fix my blog. The sidebars need some links and I am aware the comment feature is still funky. I have been spending most of my spare time working on shop items though. Tomorrow I am working on a fall bag for me! I've got a vision of how I want this bag to be so I am hoping it will turn out alright. I'll be back Sat or Sun with the results.

Hope everyone gets to create something this weekend. :)

I go through spells where I feel sad and alone. I get angry at everyone and am envious of the lives of those around me. I want to give up blogging, Flickr, sewing, etc.
I sort of go in a "hermit" mode for a few days even weeks.

Then something catches my eye. A flower or a piece of jewellery and it invokes inspiration. I bring my camera back out from it's bag and snap a photo. I then go to Flickr to upload the image. Upon being on Flickr I see other peoples photos and engage in a conversation. Soon I am back to normal (my normal) and feel the urge to create again.

My latest mood enhancing photograph was when I stumbled across these old crazy beaded earrings I got many years ago before children. I loved these earrings. They are huge, tacky, and I would never where them now. The second I saw them though I felt they needed to be photographed.

I hope everyone has a good weekend. I'll be uploading the Apple Festival pictures sometime tomorrow. Then I will be starting my Mermaid art course so will have some photos of the progress on that. :)

I'm going back into one of my "moods" again. Some people call them creative slumps but they encompass more than just crafts for me. I hate being this way.
Maybe some fresh air at the Apple Festival will do me good.

I normally don't boost the color so much but I like how this photo turned out. Everything is so vivid. I don't think it will work for all photos though so this wont be becoming a habit.

I feel bad not posting all week but so much is going on right now. I got a new bookshelf in the studio and whatever does NOT fit will be sold on Etsy. I will have a major destash sale and probably some giveaways here on fabric too small to put up for sale.

I'll be so happy to have a clean area that is functional and can get back to business.
I'll be back later this weekend though because I have to make this tote that popped in my head when I was doodling with crayons.

The first thing we did when arriving in Florida is bop by the Barnes & Noble so I could get a new Stampington magazine. I was in luck that the new Artful Blogging was available.
I immediatly snagged it along with a mocha coconut frappachino and went poolside to indulge.

One of my new favorite artists Kelly Rae Roberts had her blog featured which was really inspiring. There were a lot of other new blogs I haven't heard of before that I need to look up when I return home. One of them is in my very own city of Asheville!
If you haven't purchased an issue of Artful Blogging you really must go to your local bookstore and get a copy. I promise you won't be disapointed. It's what got me blogging again after my 6 month online hiatus. I was bored with blogs and blogging since all I knew were sewing/craft blogs. This magazine opened my eyes to the possibility of a photo blog and I ran with it.

This was supposed to be just a photo today but I guess I went on a tangent of my magazine love. I'll be back later this weekend with Kody's birthday photos.
