Artful Blogging, Vintage Fabric, and De-Stash Preview

Artful Blogging
Nothing beats a lazy Sunday with the latest Artful Blogging and my vintage fabric I scored the other day. It's been a long time since I've found good fabric and they looked even better after I washed the thrift store funk off and folded them.
They are just perfect for a future quilt.

I've spent most of the weekend though going through fabric. I simply must get rid of all this and hope to make at least a little bit of cash back for my new project I have in mind. Here is a small photo of some fat quarters I've gone through so far. I still have a long way to go and will not list anything until I return from NY (23rd).
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

The first thing we did when arriving in Florida is bop by the Barnes & Noble so I could get a new Stampington magazine. I was in luck that the new Artful Blogging was available.
I immediatly snagged it along with a mocha coconut frappachino and went poolside to indulge.

One of my new favorite artists Kelly Rae Roberts had her blog featured which was really inspiring. There were a lot of other new blogs I haven't heard of before that I need to look up when I return home. One of them is in my very own city of Asheville!
If you haven't purchased an issue of Artful Blogging you really must go to your local bookstore and get a copy. I promise you won't be disapointed. It's what got me blogging again after my 6 month online hiatus. I was bored with blogs and blogging since all I knew were sewing/craft blogs. This magazine opened my eyes to the possibility of a photo blog and I ran with it.

This was supposed to be just a photo today but I guess I went on a tangent of my magazine love. I'll be back later this weekend with Kody's birthday photos.

Shiny & New

I don't know if it's because I'm in a new house now or what but my blogging love had left me for awhile along with some other hobbies I had. I spent hours reading blogs, blogging, reading about blogs, etc. I would create things to blog about. It's just what I did for years. Then we moved and I became overwhelmed with house projects. I didn't read a blog or even log onto TypePad. Someone had dropped off the new Artful Blogging to me last week though and as I flipped through the wonderful photo layouts and inspiring articles I remembered what I was missing. I still haven't recovered from my creative slump but I do feel I can create posts based on my photos and such so Vintage Fairytale will be my new blog for awhile.
Why Vintage Fairytale?
It was my old email I used and created my Flickr account out of. People that use my photos in magazines and websites use "photo by vintage fairytale" so I figured it's too late to change it now. :)

While I am sure there will be crafty projects in the posts of this blog this isn't going to be a "craft blog". It's more of a personal blog that will fulfill my journal needs. If you happen upon it and enjoy your time here, please leave me a comment or drop me an email.

If you were a reader of my old blog you can still visit it here. I am keeping it up since I get several hits on the Japanese craft book posts still.
