Wow has this ever been a crazy week. It snowed from Sunday night to Friday here and we got well over a foot of snow total. I love a snow day now and then but when you have it all week and have to be somewhere during the day it gets really annoying.
I realized Friday I hadn't made anything this week and to stick with my sew a week goal I needed something quick to bust out sooooo
Let me introduce you to my Ruby Star Rising bag...
I love this little bag and it was quick, easy, and fun to make.
I used some of the special stitching on my machine that for some reason I never use and loved the effect.
All in all I am really pleased how this came out and if I ever re-open my shop will definitely include some of these.
Now back to sewing my top. Hopefully it will be done next week {and wearable} for project 3. I don't really think I can count a dud project as one of my 52 projects.
I hope everyone is having a crafty (warm) weekend. :)

Craft Book Wish List
I was poking around online and noticed a few books I hadn't seen before and thought I would share.
These images are from Amazon. Click them to go to the product page.
(The Amazon referrel program is not available to NC residents so this isn't a plug for points here by the way)
Some nice quilty books:
The next three I am obsessing over. I will probably order them soon even though the bottom two are pre-orders.
Button Bracelets
Button bracelets are everywhere. However, for some reason I never made one for myself. I have jars and jars of various vintage buttons and decided to make one the other night while watching a movie.
I really love how it came out and it gave me something creative to do while I waited for the weekend. Tomorrow I'll post some of my progress from Danita's course.
I'm absolutely loving it and have been learning lots of new techniques.
At some point this weekend I need to do some work on here. Bloglines is shutting down in a couple weeks which is going to mess up my whole blog reading and link list. Does anyone recommend a good reader? I really liked how when I added a blog to my bloglines it automatically put it on my sidebar here. If you have any recommendations please leave a comment or email me.
Aside from my reader issues it's about time to change the ole summer banner up there. I did so love that photo though and will miss it.
Hope everyone is having a creative weekend. :)
Practice Piece
It's Craft Week!!!
Have you been getting your craft on?
Today I took out my darning foot to play a little before the free motion course starts. I really had fun although was a little clumsy at first.
I ended up making a cute little pouch that will be perfect for holding some fat quarters of fabric in for a swap partner. I hope she likes it.
I am going to try and do something creative every day this week in honor of American craft week.
Check out this site and see if there is anything creative going on in your home town and make something! :)
It's Here!!!
My kit for Danita's Free Motion class arrived today. I want to dig in it so bad but am holding out until the online course starts. I am notorious for losing things.
Here's a peek of what's inside. I even got a couple postcards.
It's just too cute beyond words. I am contemplating practicing on something else other than the items in the kit in case I screw up.
This is the 3rd crafty class I am taking this season so I'm going to be really occupied in the next few months and am giving up Flickr activities until I'm done.
I'll still visit blogs on the weekend though so I won't be in creative hiding too much. :)
My Creative Space 2
SQUIRRELS!!
Working on a special little clutch that I will probably end up keeping for my New York City trip. I have only been to NY once and it was many years ago. I'm definitely looking forward to going now, especially now that I am so involved in creating things. Purl Soho here I come!. :)
I should have the completed clutch up this weekend (as usual) and hopefully I can finish a quilt I am working on as well. It's been cold and rainy this week from a tropical storm and I really wish that I had the quilt finished right now.
Hope everyone is having a good week so far. It's almost Friday!!!

Pleated Fall Bag
Whew. I finally finished my fall bag. It took a couple of days and a lot of tweaking but it's finally complete.
I was supposed to be doing a post of I guess a tutorial of sorts on this bag for a friend but since there was so much editing as I went I'll just post some photos and come back and put directions later. I need to make another one of these first with my notes and make sure it comes out alright before I even attempt to explain it to someone else. :)
Pleat
The three P's went smoothly until it was time to attach the top to the pleated part.
I won't get into the details but I ended up cutting some excess fabric and actually ended up with a semi-decent bag. I'll go into more detail of this bags creation soon. Maybe a couple weeks. (I'll let you know when I edit it Amy).
I am beginning to grow quite fond of pleats.
On another note I am signing up for Danita's Free Motion workshop. I can't wait!
I am really looking forward to all the Creative Lab classes that are coming. It looks like a fiber arts one is in the works. Of course between that and my art classes I am going to have to choose my favorites. I don't think my bank can afford them all.
Until next time friends. Sigh, Monday......
My Creative Space 1
I've discovered a new blog today Kootoyoo. Well it's new to me anyway. :)
I've decided to hop on the My Creative Space train and join in the fun.
I've been working on a little patchwork project using linen as a swap gift for someone.
I'll post the reveal Saturday. Tonight we have a teachers conference.
Flea Market Fancy Bday Gift
I showed you this little cutie yesterday but now that I have some decent photos I thought I would re-post it along with the other half of this gift.
I used some Flea Market Fancy scraps that I have been hoarding forEVER it seems. Along with some fraying canvas. I originally was just testing out my shabby sewing (is that what it's called?) but it turned out so good I decided to include it in a birthday gift.
Today it was time for some more FMF fun.
The recipient loves zip pouches and such so I made her a little patchwork wristlet.
It was supposed to have a gusset but honestly I had too much to do today to bother with it so just made it flat. I still think it turned out okay and it was fun working with Flea Market Fancy.
I hope she likes it.
Next week starts more shop product making. I have spent this whole weekend cutting out pouches and other goodies. I should have been cleaning up my studio though. It's pretty scary. :)
See you soon!
