Coin Pouches

I have missed the blogging community and although was contemplating abandoning this blog I decided to pop in and share my latest creations....mini coin pouches! :)
I used 3 inch zippers from zipit and some of my Japanese fabric I have laying around. The little prints work great for small projects.

Right now they are piling up in my sewing room. Maybe when I have some extra time I can put them on Etsy.

They are perfect for coins, chapstick, ear buds, and other little items that get lost in a purse. I have almost run out of the 3 inch zippers but am probably going to order more just because I enjoy making these so much.
What have you been making lately that has really inspired you to sew?

I've been having a hard time getting motivated to create these past couple of months which is also why I haven't been blogging or reading blogs. I'm hoping it's just the winter blues and things will go back to normal soon.
:)

My Creative Space ZIP POUCHES

There has actually been some creating this week!!
I've been playing around with some different pouch ideas lately and here are two that I liked the best.

The first pouch is made of patchwork strips from an Amy Butler jelly roll. I like the simplicity of it but I'm debating on adding something...like buttons or trim? I don't know it just doesn't look "finished" to me.....
On the other one I used a rice bag and love the texture of it.

It's  good sturdy little pouch and the first person I showed it to bought it from me. I may have to add some of them in my shop when I reopen it. I think they look interesting and it's great to upcycle!!!

I love making pouches. They are quick fun projects which is great when I need a break from garment sewing.

2:52 {RSR Bag}

Jan 029
Wow has this ever been a crazy week. It snowed from Sunday night to Friday here and we got well over a foot of snow total. I love a snow day now and then but when you have it all week and have to be somewhere during the day it gets really annoying.
I realized Friday I hadn't made anything this week and to stick with my sew a week goal I needed something quick to bust out sooooo
Let me introduce you to my Ruby Star Rising bag...

Jan 056
I love this little bag and it was quick, easy, and fun to make.
I used some of the special stitching on my machine that for some reason I never use and loved the effect.

Jan 050
All in all I am really pleased how this came out and if I ever re-open my shop will definitely include some of these.

Jan 053
Now back to sewing my top. Hopefully it will be done next week {and wearable} for project 3. I don't really think I can count a dud project as one of my 52 projects.
I hope everyone is having a crafty (warm) weekend. :)

Times Square Pouch

Nov1 032
Well, I've been missing in action again around here and Flickr but life's gotten a little out of hand.
Next week is my NYC trip to visit my brother and I decided I needed a cute little pouch to tote around while I'm shopping and walking....lots of walking.

Nov1 002
I used a City Weekend candy bar and made a little patchwork piece for the outside.
I used 5 regular strips and cut 3 in half.

Nov1 026
A lot of people aren't fond of City Weekend and although the pinks are a little too muted for my taste, I think if you get the right combination it will look pretty.

Nov1 028
Look at the dotty goodness...what is wrong with you people that dislike this line????
Just kidding.  :)

So there is the finished product. It has a long thin strap and is just big enough for my cards, chap-stick, and cell phone. I am really pleased with how it came out and see more being produced in the future...possibly for my shop....
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I am working on a major de-stash in my loft. I have a new project in my mind but don't want to say anything about it yet because with my luck it won't happen if I do. :)

Flea Market Fancy Bday Gift

Aug29 013
I showed you this little cutie yesterday but now that I have some decent photos I thought I would re-post it along with the other half of this gift.

Aug29 012
I used some Flea Market Fancy scraps that I have been hoarding forEVER it seems. Along with some fraying canvas. I originally was just testing out my shabby sewing (is that what it's called?) but it turned out so good I decided to include it in a birthday gift.

Today it was time for some more FMF fun.
The recipient loves zip pouches and such so I made her a little patchwork wristlet.

Aug29 035
It was supposed to have a gusset but honestly I had too much to do today to bother with it so just made it flat. I still think it turned out okay and it was fun working with Flea Market Fancy.

I hope she likes it.

Next week starts more shop product making. I have spent this whole weekend cutting out pouches and other goodies. I should have been cleaning up my studio though. It's pretty scary.  :)

See you soon!
